An Afternoon with Elgar

Kāpiti Concert Orchestra's first 2025 concert is an afternoon celebrating Elgar with some well-known and lesser-known works, conducted by Andrew Atkins.

The concert opens with Pomp and Circumstance March no. 5 followed by “Nursery Suite” which Elgar dedicated to the young Princess’ Elizabeth and Margaret. It was one of his last works.

Then excerpts from “Sea Pictures” with mezzo soprano Anna Gawn and Elgar’s glorious Cello Concerto performed by Caitlin Morris.
