Front of House Manager


The purpose of this role is to coordinate the Front of House services within Te Raukura ki Kāpiti to ensure the professional, efficient, and safe delivery of events, supporting our clients, customers and patrons. Incorporating On-Event Front of House Management and Coordination, Kiosk - Food and Beverage Services, Ticketing Assist.

We strive for a high-quality experience for our users, made up of a community of clients, audiences, students, venue and school staff, ensuring that safe/best practice is observed.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong understanding of and relevant experience in theatre and events environment.
  • Recent and relevant experience in working with event Ticketing systems.
  • Staff Management.
  • Cash handling and Point-of-Sale system.
  • A good understanding of Health, Safety and Wellbeing for audiences and able to apply this knowledge in a variety of circumstances.
  • Bar work experience and an understanding of host responsibility.
  • Hold or obtain LCQ and Manager’s Certificate to perform Duty Manager role on events.

  • Highly organised;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, in numeracy and literacy;
  • Understanding environment to ensure the smooth running of events;
  • Ability to provide innovative, creative and practical ideas and solutions;
  • Effective self-management and ability to prioritise workload;
  • Accepting and agile within changing work patterns, with developing systems and operations;
  • Ability to perform a range of tasks under competing demands with minimum supervision.
