Transforming Lives Through Music:
Virtuoso Strings is dedicated to making stringed instrument tuition accessible to rangatahi across Aotearoa. By fostering a love for music through inclusive and innovative teaching, the Trust builds confidence, nurtures excellence, and emphasizes the power of group music-making and goal setting.

Virtuoso Strings creates a supportive and thriving environment where young musicians can develop their talents, form strong peer and community connections, and build an enduring sense of self-worth. The Trust envisions orchestras across the country as authentic reflections of Aotearoa’s socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic diversity.

Generating positive social impact through accessible and holistic music education, Virtuoso Strings offers tuition and orchestral scholarships to students from low-income backgrounds, refugee communities, Māori and Pacific heritage, and those with disabilities.

Based in Porirua, the Virtuoso Strings Orchestra welcomes young musicians from across the Wellington region, providing them with the opportunity to experience the joy of orchestral performance in an environment that champions inclusivity and artistic growth.
