NZSO Baroque Series: The Art of Fugue CANCELLED

With New Zealand moving to Red in the Covid-19 Protection Framework, NZSO have made the decision to cancel their upcoming Baroque Series tour, The Art of Fugue.

The Art of Fugue tour was to begin in Wellington on 11 February, followed by concerts in Paraparaumu, Gisborne, Whakatāne, Tauranga, Auckland and Kerikeri until 19 February. The restrictions on capacity and physical distancing required for public events at Red mean they are no longer able to perform these concerts.

All ticket holders will be refunded. If you have any questions about your ticket refund please phone Te Raukura ki Kāpiti Centre Manager Sonia Hardie on 04)9740535.

The NZSO’s Baroque Series returns with masterpieces from Bach and Rameau.

The Art of Fugue is one of Bach’s most well-known Organ works. Here though, you’ll see and hear the complex and fugal interplay performed in an entirely different way with this arrangement for string orchestra.

Section Principal Oboe Robert Orr and NZSO Concertmaster Vesa-Matti Leppänen are sure to bring their special magic to the intricate interweaving parts of Bach’s Concerto for Oboe and Violin before Rameau’s dramatic, almost Operatic Les Boréades Suite.
